7 Device Setup

Installing Device Alive will only takes a few minutes per device.
Please follow the setup process outlined below for the Windows Phone 7 devices
to be placed on display.
Setup Instructions (please print to have with you during setup)
1. BEFORE YOU START: Be
sure the phone is at least 50% charged and be sure to NOT disconnect or disrupt
the phone while it is in the process of flashing the firmware.
2. Make sure that the
display plaque is prepared with constant power as Device Alive runs constantly & will deplete a battery in
approximately 3.5 hours if not powered.
3. Use a store manager
laptop PC and NOT a sales terminal to apply the update. The Instruction
document contains information on requesting Administrator privileges if
required.
4. The firmware image
files are large, between 200-322 MB, please be sure to completely download the
entire file for each phone.
5. Download and print
the instructions in the Windows
Phone 7 Device Setup Instructions file and have them with you when you
complete the setup process.

Q: During
install, I am prompted that I need Administrator privileges on the PC to
continue. How do I get these?
A: The instructions document linked to above has been updated to provide instructions on how to request and obtain these privileges.
Q: How do I
stop the program from running?
A: Device alive can be started manually from the program list on the phone in order to directly provide a consumer access to the promotions available
Q: How do I
stop the program from running?
A: The Device Alive application is designed to run continuously, so there is no way to disable the program.
Q: How do I
restart/repair a phone that is experiencing issues?
A: Power cycling the phone will automatically restart Device Alive when the phone re-starts, after the looping video sequence is ended Device Alive starts automatically. Device alive can also be started manually from the program list on the phone.
Q: How do I
reset the device?
A: Power cycling the phone by holding down the power button or by pulling the battery will restart the device. Device Alive will start automatically after the attract sequence begins.
Q: How do I
uninstall the Device Alive application?
A: The Device Alive application cannot be uninstalled.
Q: How do I
perform a factory reset on the device?
A: In the
program list, select SETTINGS > ABOUT > MORE INFO > RESET YOUR PHONE
